  • Microsoft Joins OMG

http://www.ddj.com/architect/210600738?cid=RSSfeed_DDJ_All It doesn't appear that MS will focus on UML. Instead, their focus is on MDA. I think this is good news for the industry and MDA. UML on the other hand? The two most helpful UML diagrams are the sequence and deployment.

  • Crazy Architects

Pest control is a constant battle especially if you live in Florida. A few months ago, while tending the lawn I noticed several ants. I promptly called the pest control service. I learned later that the ants are known as crazy ants ( Paratrechina longicornis ) and common in Florida. The name "crazy...

  • Building a solution with many projects is SLOWWWWWWW

This week I am attending TechEd in Orlando FL and I was honored to be requested to work the C# booth by the MVP and C# teams. I got many great questions from attendees and I thought I would post some of the more interesting ones. So here goes. An attendee, let’s call him Bob, came up and said that his...

  • Software + Services

"The difference between services and software is largely frame of reference. Services are ultimately provided by software and hosted somewhere. Microsoft wants to provide the best solutions for consuming, providing, and combining services , whether they are data or rich media, and whether they live...
  • SDO support for .Net

Jean-Jacques Dubray of http://www.ebpml.org/about.htm is becoming one of my favorite blogs. I have only followed his blog the past couple of months. I admire him because he is one of a few technologists that attempt to step back from the platform specific SOA implementations and discuss SOA from an agnostic...

  • Why Objects Suck

I saw this great article over at codeproject: http://www.codeproject.com/gen/design/theWrongObject.asp . Here is one part I found to be particularly on point: " Now, the diagram above is a bit silly, but I think it's also illustrative of the evolution in both hardware and software architectures...
